Etherton Education – Residential Summer Course Update
27 May 2021
We are very sad to announce that we have had to cancel all of our residential summer courses which were planned for Lord Wandsworth College, Badminton School and Dean Close School in 2021. This decision has not been made lightly as it will be the second year that we have not been able to run residential courses.
There has been some good news here: the UK’s vaccination programme has been very successful and the Government’s ‘Roadmap Out of Lockdown’ has seen restrictions easing, and is following the Prime Minister’s plans so far. The last step on 17 May 2021 saw shops opening, indoor dining allowed and even hugs with close family and friends.
Unfortunately, our biggest obstacles, and those faced by our international students, are with international travel and how the traffic light system for entry to the UK will continue to change.
Quarantine restrictions are the other main area which impact on us and our students. We have been seeking clarification from the Government as to whether we could be our own quarantine centre, but unfortunately this is still unclear.
Therefore with these two main areas of uncertainty we have had to take the decision to cancel all of our residential courses for the summer of 2021. We are hopeful we will be able to return to our residential courses here in the UK for the summer of 2022. If you would like to be the first to know about our Residential 2022 Academic Summer Courses, please get in touch and we will make sure your details are on file ready. The contact information for our admissions team is shown below.
I am pleased to say that despite the situation, some international students will still be coming to start at British Boarding Schools in September. These students will still need as much preparation as possible, and therefore we will be running our online courses this summer to help them. Please contact our admissions team to find out more about the online courses available.
Thank you again for everyone who has enquired, registered and kept hopeful with us for the summer – we cannot thank you enough. We appreciate and value the support of our educational agent network, our students and their families, as well as our partner schools. We will be in touch soon.
Stay safe and take care.
