Academic Summer Courses
Preparing International Students for Studying in British Boarding Schools Since 2002
Welcome to Etherton Education!
Etherton Education academic summer courses are designed to prepare international students for studying in British boarding schools. Our courses are also suitable for students who just want a ‘taste’ of British Education’.
Our courses are academic, with English for education as the main focus. You will study intensive English and up to ten other academic subjects. In addition to the academic studies, we also focus on the personal development of students ‘soft skills’ such as confidence, team work, leadership, communication, creativity and integration. The courses also include lots of sport, social activities, Sunday clubs and cultural visits. Students work hard but have a lot of fun!
Our courses include:
Our Pre-A-Level / Pre-IB Courses are for students aged 15-17 who are preparing to study A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate.
Our Fast Track Pre-GCSE Course is for students aged 15-17 who are preparing to start a One-Year-GCSE course.
Our Pre-GCSE Course is for students aged 13-15 who are preparing to study GCSEs.
Our Junior Academic Course is for younger students aged 10-12, they combine hard work with lots of active learning and fun.
Our Introduction to British Boarding for Girls Course is for female students aged 10-15, it is an innovative and exciting course built around different themes each week. The course has been developed in partnership with the Headmistress and Staff of Badminton School.
Our Young Entrepreneur Course is for students aged 15-17 who are interested in an introduction to the world of business.
Our Family Summer Course is for students aged 7 -10 accompanied by a parent / adult, it is designed to give a great introduction to British Boarding Schools.
If you are coming to the UK to start at a British boarding school in September, an Etherton Education academic summer course will prepare you well. After the summer, you will feel more confident and ready to study at your new school.
Thank you for these kind words
Without doubt, the Etherton Education summer course is of huge benefit to our international Sixth Formers both in terms of preparation for A-levels and in their understanding of a different culture. I am convinced that they settle into their studies far quicker since the course started, when before they would spend the first term drowning in a sea of technical terms and unknown social customs. They certainly seem happy here and eager to start sixth form.
