Welcome to Etherton Education

Etherton Education runs academic summer courses to prepare overseas students for British education. These courses at Wellington School are suitable for students who want to go abroad to study GCSE or A-Level in a British boarding school. You will improve your English, study all the main academic subjects, and get over culture shock. Many of our former students are now studying at Oxford, Cambridge and other top British universities. The key to this success is to be well prepared!

2012 Course:

This summer the course will again spend the first week in London followed by 8 weeks at Wellington School. We will take students to visit some of the UK’s best universities during the summer to inspire them to aim high and work hard!

Students will stay at Bankside House. Bankside is a Hall of Residence belonging to the London School of Economics. It is very near to the River Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. During the week in London we will visit: Imperial College, London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL) , and Cambridge University. We will also visit the British Museum, Science Museum, Tate Modern, and many other famous sights in London .

The London Week is an optional week which may be booked by students who are atttending a 4-week or 8-week Academic Course.  We regret that it is not possible to attend for this week only.

British Council Accreditation

Etherton Education was inspected and accredited by the British Council in August 2008. Points of excellence were noted in aspects of general management, pastoral care and the leisure programme.

British Boarding Schools - Partner Schools

Etherton Education works with boarding schools in the UK throughout the year to ensure students get the most out of their education here. For the purposes of meeting new regulations on student visas we have formed partnerships with many schools. These partnerships have been confirmed by UKBA. This means that if you want to send a student to one of our partner schools, they will be able to get one visa to cover an Etherton Education Summer Course as well as the course at the main school.
