Preparing overseas students for studying in British schools
Welcome to Etherton Education!
Etherton Education provides academic summer courses for international students aged 10-17, who want to study abroad in a UK boarding school. You will study intensive English and up to ten other academic subjects. The programme also includes lots of sport, social activities, clubs and cultural visits. You will work hard and play hard!
If you are coming to the UK to start at a boarding school in September, the Etherton pre-sessional summer course will prepare you well. After the summer, you will feel more confident and ready to study at your new school.
Our courses are also suitable for students who want to have a taste of life at a UK boarding school, or who want to study hard during the summer, and then return home.
Our Pre-A-Level / Pre-IB Courses are suitable for students aged 15-17 who are preparing to study A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate.
Our Fast Track Pre-GCSE Course is suitable for students aged 15-16 who are intending to start a One-Year-GCSE course or a Three-Year-A-Level course which includes GCSE exams.
Our Pre-GCSE Courses are suitable for students aged 13-15 who are preparing to study GCSEs or to enter Year 9.
Our Junior Academic Course is suitable for younger students, aged 10-12. It combines hard work with lots of active learning and fun.
Our students are generally bright and ambitious. You will be the leaders of tomorrow. Many of our students aim at going to top UK universities. We will show you how to succeed in the British education system.
If you are preparing to come to a British boarding school, or if you just want to try out life in a boarding school during the summer, an Etherton course is the right one for you!
Thank you for these kind words
Without doubt, the Etherton Education summer course is of huge benefit to our international Sixth Formers both in terms of preparation for A-levels and in their understanding of a different culture. I am convinced that they settle into their studies far quicker since the course started, when before they would spend the first term drowning in a sea of technical terms and unknown social customs. They certainly seem happy here and eager to start sixth form.
